What does the "i" mean after some answers

i is the symbol for imaginary numbers. i is the imagined square root of -1. recall that when you learned about square roots they said you can't take the square root of an imaginary number, well you actually can. The square root of -1 is i and the square root of - 2 is 2i and so on.
