It is a small block, but it would weigh

so that in the resulting equation, the coefficient of  ??  matches the coefficient of  ??

   Melody helped you if the  ??   is  'x'

       if the ??   is 'y'    you would multiply the first equation by  3.5   ....

A dog weighs two pounds less than three times the weight of a cat        d = 3c-2

The dog also weighs twenty-two more pounds than the cat     d = c + 22

Equate the two      3c-2 = c+ 22

                               2c = 24

                                  c = 12      Use this to calculate the dog weight by substituting into one of the equations

50 x  + 750  = 450 + 75x

300 = 25x

x = 12

y intercept of line 2 = 8

y = 6/5x + 8
