It was my probem I got the equation wrong.

Actually I meant the second equation to be \(\frac{x^2}{9}+y^2 = 1\) but thank you for the answer anyways.

Angle TUV = Angle TUW + Angle WUV. Therefore, 9x+1 = 12x-20. If we subtract 9x from both sides, we get, 1 = 3x-20. Subtracting one from both sides will give us 0 = 3x-21. Thus, we see that 3x = 21 and x = 7.

There is a possibility of \(\frac{3}{10}\)to get a red marble and there are 12 red marbles. This is the same as saying \(\frac{3}{10}\)of all the marbles is twelve. Therefore, the total number of marbles are 12 divided by 3 time by 10 which is 40 marbles.
