To convert a fraction into a percent we need to first simply the fraction then... turn it into a decimal, then a percent. Let us  walk through this together 

Since 5, and 40 have a common factor of 5 itself, we can divide 5 and 40 both by 5 thus,

5 / 5 = 1 

and 

40 / 5 = 8 

So simplified 5/40 is equal to 1/8, now since 1/8 is a very common decimal in mathematics you will have to memorize that 1/8 = 0.125

NOW: To convert a decimal into a percent we multiply the decimal by 100, or move the decimal dot 2 places to the left.

So 0.125 x 100 = 12.5 %

Now this is a very useful trick and will be used often so make sure the master it.

I think that the answers would be decimals, I did some guessing and checking methods and I got :

5.5, and 9.5 

a^3 + 3ab^2 = 679 

a^3 - 3ab^2 = 615 

We can subtract both of the equations : 

(a^3 + 3ab^2 ) - ( a^3 - 3ab^2 )  = 679 - 615 

=         6ab^2 = 64

 = ab^2 = 64/6

Now we need to get rid of the fraction part of 64/6, thus a = 1/6 

If a = 1/6 then b = ± 8

Now we subtract, we have 2 possibilities :

1/6 - (-8 ) = 8 + 1/6 

Or 

1/6 -8 = -47 / 6

There is a total  of 564 ways since :

720 - 156 = 564 

There is no solution since in the 3rd equation if we subtract p from both sides then we get r = 9, but if we get rid of the q's from the second equation we would get r to be an equal number, thus this system does not have a solution.

We can use the multiplying strategy for this problem : 

6 x 4 x 4 x 2 x 2  = 384 ways to sit

a + n = 4 ( b - n )  → this would be the equation for the first situation, now let us simplify. 

a + n = 4b - 4n  →. a  = 4b - 5n  → this would be the simplified version

this answer does not seem correct, however if anyone wants to correct me they can 

 a)  if x = 10 we can just plug this into the equation : 

(6 ( 10 ) ^ 3  +. 9 (10) ^ 2 + 4 ( 10 ) + 7 ).  /  2( 10 ) + 3    = 3 ( 10 ) ^ 2 + 2 + 1/ (2 (10) + 3)

(6000 + 900 + 40 + 7 ) / 23  = 300 + 2 +  1 / (23)

(6947) / 23 = 300 + 2 +  1/ 23 

302  + (remainder of 1 ) = 302 + 1/23 

We can divide the remainder of 1 by 23 since we are dividing by 23 thus : 

302 + 1/23 = 302 = 1/23 

I am confused about the ending paragraph however I think you can do it for the last 2 sections
