So if a license plate has 2 letters and 3 numbers , and 1 of the letters has to be Q then how many possible combinations are possible

I got 26000 but they say its wrong

 

cause 

 

The first digit guaranteed to be = 1 

 

The next letter can be all possible = 26

 

Then all the next have to be either ( 0 ,1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 ,7 , 8 , 9)

 

So : 26 x 10 x 10 x 10 = 26000

26*1*10*10*10*2 = 52000 - 10*10*10 = 51000

 

That is assuming the letters have to come first.
