Ages NOW  are   x     and    x-2

TEN years ago their ages were    x- 10     and     x-2 -10    and totaled 48

x-10   +    x-2-10  = 48

2x -22 = 48

2x = 70

x = 35      and the other is   35-2 = 33 y/o

Total are of flag =   (2 + 1 + 1)   *  2 = 8 units²

^{white area =   1*2  + 1*2   + 1/3 (2*2) = 4 + 4/3}

^{5 1/3  / 8 =  16/ 24   = 2/3 is white}

Volume of sphere = 4 /3 π r³

(a) Work out an estimate for the volume of the squash ball.

 Put in   r = 3.38 cm   into the above equation....answer will be in   units of   cm³

(3x    +     8 )(x   +    2 )     You can finish ,,,, 

(y+b)²  - (a + 3d)²

Put y = 0 (this will be when the ball hits the ground) into the equation and then solve for 't'

0 = -16t² -60t +54     Solve for 't' 

                                   (throw out any negative values found while using Quadratic Fromula or factoring)

 I t would be    ( 2 \(\sqrt[3]{2}\))⁶     = 64 * 2^6/3 = 64 * 2² = 256

TWO triangular ends      TWO x 1/2 b h =   TWO x 1/2 6 * 4  ft²

ONE rectangular bottom   6 * 9

TWO rectangular sides      TWO * 9 * 5

Add the REDs

21/2.5 =   8.4
