Link helped me to the right answer. Thank you very much CPhill ^^
Doing well enough @CPhill, been busy with school. Junior year of high school, still working on getting into a good college sometime in a couple of years for music performance, etc. You?
EDIT: Thanks for the link. For the first part at least, Example 3 from the link seems to be almost the same thing, just with different numbers. I'll try that first to see if that doesn't help at all ^^
Amount raised (A) = $7000
Sports equipment (S) = $3596
Library books (L) = $3438
A > S + L In order for there to have been enough money raised
$7000 > $3596 + $3438 (?)
$7000 > $7034 (?)
$7000 > $7034 (X)
They did not raise enough money
\(48^2/3*2\)
No parenthesis, exponents/powers next
\(48^2 = 2304\)
No exponents/powers, multiplication/division next
\(2304/3*2\)
\(2304/3 = 768\)
\(768*2\)
\(768*2 = 1536\)
No multiplicatio/division, no addition/subtraction, problem finished.
For 2t = 4/7 you just divide both sides by 2 to get rid of the 2 on the t
t = 2/7
1/4x = 6
Multiply both sides by 4 to get rid of the 1/4 attached to the x
x = 24
Though I do agree with you in the sense that the End of Day wrap thread was getting too long, you shoulda pushed the extra week to get it to 500 posts. C'mon Melody!
-15/11 - 7/11
Because they have a common denominator, we can write it like this:
(-15 - 7)/11
That gives us the answer -22/11, which is equivalent to -2
