Hello. I shall allow someone else to solve the question 62. I am unable to solve it.

63) We are given a right triangle prism with an area of 450. L=15, and B=5.

This means the (5*15*(AB))/2 = 450 so 900 = 75(AB), so AB = 900/75 = 12. 

Notice how we are given that there is a right triangle. This means that we can apply the Pythagorean Theorem. a²+b²=c². a = 5, b = 12. If you know the basic Pythagorean Triples, then you will remember the (5, 12, 13) one. 

This means that our missing side is 13.

From now on, only one question per post. Also, if you don't get 2 and 3, why post 1 and 4?

2. 5x + 2(x + 7) = 14x – 7. Find x

If you really don't get it, let me tell you one thing. Since this is multiple choice, use trial and error. If you are on a test, nobody can help you with anything. So, if you don't get a multiple choice math question (or grammar) use trial and error.

But that would be pointless if I used it, because I know how to solve it, and you won't learn.

To begin, we distribute the 2 in 2(x + 7)

5x + 2(x + 7) = 14x – 7

5x + 2x + 14 = 14x -7

7x + 14 = 14x -7

Now, we need to isolate the x. First, subtract 14x from both sides. Then, subtract 14 from both sides.

7x + 14 = 14x -7

-7x + 14 = -7

-7x = -21

x = 3

3. 12t – 10 = 14t + 2. Find t

a. -6
b. -4
c. 4
d. 6

Here is what I don't get. If you could solve one, then you can solve 3. If you could solve 4, then you can solve 2. 

Anyways, to begin, we want to isolate the t. The first natural process it to subtract 12t from both sides:

12t – 10 = 14t + 2

-10 = 2t + 2

Subtract 2 from both sides:

-12 = 2t

Divide by 2:

-6 = t

Sorry, Melody. I know this is a slightly hard problem, at least for me. I looked over your working to comprehend it, and it looks a bit like what I had done. My answer had only a slight arithmetic error, and hence the difference.

However, both of our answers appear to be wrong! Here is the answer I recieved from my source: 

There are 10 options for the numeric value of the two cards in the pair. Once we selected it, there are C(5,2)=10 ways to pick which two suits the cards in the pair will come from. There are then C(9,3) = 84 ways to choose the numbers on the final three cards, and 5 choices for the suit for each card, giving us a total of 10*10*84*5³ = 1,050,000 ways.

We have 50 people, and four people to vote for. Let's see how many possibilities for a single person. The person can vote for person A, B, C, or D, thus meaning there are four options for a single person. Remember that one person's vote does not affect another; for example if thirty-nine people voted for person C, it does not make the fortieth person any more likely to vote for person C, all probabilities are independent.

So we have \(4^1\) for the first person, because there is one person voting. But each time we have more people vote, the options increase. If we had two people voting, there would be \(4\cdot4\) options or \(4^2\). This pattern goes on for every single vote, meaning that by the end, we will have \(\boxed{4^{50}}\) options.

Three of the choices are wrong.

Only one is true every time.  

Which one is it.

If the asker knows what a rotation is, and understands what congruent means, then they can answer themselves.

eg. Think about the hand of a clock as it rotates.  

Which of those statements are nonsense and which must be true all the time?

f(10) is a very large number.  By writing a simple recursion routine in software I find f(10) is approximately equal to 2.972x10¹¹⁷.

I wouldn't want to try to calculate this by hand!
