Hint Question:
How many minutes does it take for ONE person to paint 9 walls?
How many minutes does it take for ONE person to paint 4 walls?
That doesn't seem so appreciative. Are you even sure you entered the correct number? I graphed it on desmos, and I got the exact same graph in your problem. There doesn't seem to be a problem in his calculations either.
The answer I believe is 19 because if you have 18 years, you would be a little UNDER the amount of money to recuperate the cost. You need to be a whole number of years over.
Very elegant!
You should look up one that includes steps, so you can explain the process to the person in need.
Substitute and solve for x and y:
2(3y) + 5y = 11
6y + 5y = 11
y = 1
Plug back in:
2x + 5(1) = 11
2x + 5 = 11
2s = 6
x = 3
