There are 60 minutes in a degree, so 6 minutes is .1 of a degree.

So we have tan 64.1 degrees = 2.059418717851

Still doesn't matter

x  = 3     y =11

x  = 4    y = 12

x  = 92   y = 100 ...............etc.

We still have infinite solutions!

As long as the absolute value of (x-y) = 8 , we have infinite solutions......

a(r^n -1) / (r-1)

Where:

a is the first term

r is the ratio between a successive term and a previous term

n is the number of terms in the sum

For instance

2 6 18 54 162.....     2 = a    r = 3  n= 5

2(3^5 -1 ) (3-1) = 242

I don't think our calc supports that...but you can do it here

125+5x=6x+4    Subtract 5x from both sides

125 = x + 4        Subtract 4 from both sides

121 = x

And that's what "x" is.....

Using the first equation, we have y =9-x

Substituting this into the second equation, we have

(x - (9-x))^2 = 25    Simplifying we have

(2x -9)^2 = 25       Expaand this on the left

4x^2 -36x + 81 = 25    Subtract 25 from both sides

4x^2 - 36x + 56 = 0    Factor, if possible

(4x -8) ( x -7) = 0     setting each factor to 0, we get

x = 2    and x =7    And using x + y = 9

y = 7    and y = 2     But since y > x. then 

(2, 7) is the solution
