I see no answer that I can calculate....are you sure you have the correct numbers in your Q post ?
Another option would be with a space at each end for a total 15 spaces
7/8 / 15 * 5280 = 7/120 mile apart = 308 ft apart
Planting 14 bushes in a line will produce 13 spaces
7/8 / 13 = 7/104 mile per space
7/104 x 5280 ft/mile = 355.4 ft apart
This is generally a sinusoidal function......or are you assuming it is linear?
A = 50 (.98)t (2 % loss leaves 98% each year )

Ate 1/3 so 2/3 remains 2/3 x = 8 pieces
x = 8 * 3/2 = 12 pieces originally
