2) Beneath all that ugly mathematician jargon lies a simple, beautiful, question: What is the LCM of 42 and 70? Solving this is simple, it gives us 210.

hint for number 1: If I told you should divide 210 into something, what would you do?

Hint: If you draw the picture out, you will see that AC is a diagonal. (because no two right angles can be together without forming a rectangle)

Further Hint: This means that you have created two right triangles. What theorem do they follow? (Pythagorean?)

Even further hint: What are the only two integers that can create a hypotenuse of 3? (The two integers that are less then 3.....right?)

Even even further hint: Can you use a theorem to find the other sides?

In general, you should draw a shape of it has anything to do with geometry. Many geometry questions include shapes, but if there is not one, try drawing it yourself. You will see that it helps a LOT.

Using this website is very simple, (but I'm not sure why you needed to create an account just for this question...)

All you have to do is type in how many questions were on the quiz/test, and voila! magic pops up. You try, and you will see what I mean.

(0.2)*(0.4)*(0.6) is basically 2 * 4 * 6 but 3 spaces after the decimal. (See why?) So, 2*4*6 is 8*6 = 48. Add three spaces after dec8mal point, and we get 0.048.

To start, we see that (x+1)^2 is x^2+2x+1 (using the unofficial square "formula")

Multiplying the whole thing by x is simple: all we have to do is stick an x onto each term. This will give x^3+2x^2+x.

Inverse functions are fairly simple, once you get used to them. To start, we need to set f(x) to y, and interchange the x and y. So, we have x=3y+1/y-2. We now need to solve for y in terms of x:

y=1+2x/x-3

Let's take the LCM of 4 and 3: it's 12. So, since 12 is 3 times 4, we divide (inverse proportions) by 2. So it will take 2 hours for 12 people. Now, we see that we divide by 4 to get to 3. Therefore, we multiply by 4 and get 8.

First, we find the slope of the line. This is y_1-y_2/x_1-x_2, which is 3-7/0-2=-4/-2=2. Now, we need the y-intercept. This is fairly easy, as we have a graph. We see (0, 3) is the y-intercept. Therefore, we have the equation y=2x+3. Here is the graph:
