This question is asking for how many times the y axis is equal to -1. We see that there are 2 times.

Not exactly, but nice try! Adding on to what guest said, all you have to do is see on the graph how many times the y is at -1. There is 4.

Also, even though the picture is pixalated, it is still very disturbing, and NOT a surprise at all. Can you edit your post to get rid of it? Thanks!

Anyways, this can also be done without graphing. 

We first need to know where the parabola is facing. This picture can come in handy:

Once you have figured that out, find the vertex using the vertex formula. Since the parabola is opening left, and our vertex has a 0 for the x, it means we have only have 1 y intercept.

Here are the two things we need to find: slope and y intercept. So:

Therefore, the equation is y=-5/4x-8

For this one, we need to set up a system of equations. Let cow be c, and goat be g. So:

4c+9g=50150

9c+4g=91900

So, what can we do here? Well, if we add them two together, we get:

13c+13g=141050

Divide by 13:

c+ g = 10850

Now, what can we do? Well we subtract the two equations:

-5c + 5g = -40750

Divide by -5:

c - g = 8150

Now, add the two equations that we made together:

2c=19000

Since you might not be able to see asinus's answer, (as it is written in raw LaTeX, probably another glitch), let me help write it out in pure letter and number form. We see that both 12 and 5 share a 6. So divide both by 6, and we see that the coefficient is 2/5. The only two that satisfies that is A and B. We see that 1 of the a's cancel out, which leaves us with a squared. Therefore, the only possible answer is A.
