to work this out i need the values of p, r and t.

well, the probability of him getting the first question right is 1/2, and the probability of him getting the first and second questions correct is 1/2*1/2 and so on. since there are 15 different questions and 15 is an odd number, at least halve of 15 is [15/2]=8. so that means we have to multiply 1/2 by 1/2 eight times but doing this could be a bit tedious, so we do (1/2)⁸=1/(2⁸)=1/256

so the probability of him getting at least halve the questions correct is 1/256

well, the formula for resistance is R=PL / A where L=length. lets choose random numbers to start with, say 1, 2 and 3, and plonk them in the formula. so 1*2 / 3 which equals 0.666666... now, lets triple L so now the formula is 1*6 / 3 equals 2, which is triple 0.666666... so now lets check with different numbers, say 5,7 and 14.  5*7 / 14 equals 2.5. now we triple L to get 5*21 / 14 equals 7.5 . so if the length triples, so does the resistance.

i can't figure this out because it has to equal something, say 5, to be possible to work out.

1kg = 1000g so 3kg= 3000g

if 3000g of sweets costs £12.99 then 1g of sweets should be 12.99/3000 pounds. the answer is 0.00433 pounds which is 433/1000* of a penny (or 0.433 pence) per gram of sweets.

* this fraction cant be simplified further because 433 is prime.

and also i live in a country that uses euros and cents but for your convenience i am using pounds and pence ;)
