All you have to do is
K - 0.6 = 9
So just reverse it to find the remaining kilometers(K); 9 - 0.6 = K
For instance, 20 miles square (20 × 20 miles) is equal to 400 square miles; an area of 10 × 40 miles is likewise 400 square miles, but it is not 20 miles square. One square mile is equal to: 4,014,489,600square inches. 27,878,400 square feet.
If you want an answer we have to know what x equals or what the equation equals.
but if your looking for a simplified answer then you just need to combine the like terms.

I really appeciate the help, luckily the assignment isn't due till 9/10/15. Only if my teacher put me in Geometry instead of Algebra honors :/
