tan [(29 + 11/12)°]  = opp / adj

tan [(29 + 11/12)°]  =  50 / adj        rearrange as

adj  = 50  / tan [(29 + 11/12)°] ≈  86.9 units

Here's a way to check this

2 / 3  = 1 / 5  ???   cross-multiply

10  = 3   ????    the cross-multiplication is not equal.....thus....these are not equal
