The length of the hypotenuse, c, is obtained from Pythagoras's theorem:

c^2 = a^2 + b^2   where a and b are the legnths of the other two sides of the right-angled triangle.

Here:  a = 4.94  and b = 5.35

c^2 = 4.94^2 + 5.35^2

So  c = sqrt(4.94^2 + 5.35^2)   or  c ≈ 7.2819
