sues scarf was 8 inches long, and each day she knitted 75% of its original length. would this be a linear or exponential equation?

L = 8 + 6n where n is the number of days Sue knitted . . . linear

What dose Mc2 mean???

You're probably thinking about E=mc² which is Albert Einstein's

famous equation describing the conversion of mass into energy.

What are values of x and y ?

x/y =3.141592653589793238

Assuming you intended the quotient to be π,

and that you mean integer values of x and y,

the answer is that there are none.

pi is an irrational value, which means it cannot

be expressed as a ratio, i.e., a simple fraction.

_.

elaborate irrational numbers

The word irrational, in the math sense, means a number that can not be expressed as a ratio.

A ratio is a fraction composed of two integers, except that the denominator can never be zero.

 At a certain time of day, the angle of elevation of the sun is 50°.

 To the nearest foot, find the height of a tree whose shadow is 43 feet long.

                              height of tree

 tangent (50^o)  =  ––––––––––––

                             shadow length

 1.1918  =  height / 43

  height  =  (43)(1.1918)  =  51.2472   rounds to 51 feet

For integers x and y, what is the smallest possible positive value of 420x + 300y?

If you call x = –2 and y = +3, you get         –840 +   900 = 60

Likewise  x = +3 and y = –4, you get         1260 – 1200 = 60

I'm not certain that is the lowest possible total.

How much work energy is wasted by a 30 W bulb if the bulb is left on for 3600 seconds while no one is using it?

Answer in joules.

Per google A.I., a joule is a watt-second,

so (30 W) • (3600 sec)  =  108,000 joules
