Let's look at this for a second before we worry about a graph.....the reason for this will be clear in a moment...
–2(y – 2) < 2(y – 4) let's simplify this
-2y + 4 < 2y - 8 add 8 to both sides and add 2y to both sides.....so we have
12 < 4y divide both sides by 4
12/4 < y = 3 < y which is the same thing as y > 3
Note that this is easier to deal with than the original equation!!!!
The graph of this includes every point in the x-y plane that lies ABOVE (but, not ON) the line y = 3.....!!!!
