This is known as the Pytagorean Theorem. It says that, in a right triangle, the sum of the squares of the legs (a and b) = the square on the hypoteneuse (the side opposite the right angle = "c")

a/b = (11/4) /  (-1/6)

Remember, when we divide fractions, we just change to multiplication and "flip" the second fraction...so we have...

11/4 * -6/1 =

11/4 * -6   =

-66/4  =  -33/2

OK...note that 6% = .06

C = 54.99 + (.06)* 54.99 = $58.29   (rounded)

And there you go.......

I'm assuming you want to factor the problem as presented in the book  ???

[4x² -2x + 6] / [2x - 3 ]  =

2[2x² - x + 3] / [2x -3] ........and this is all we can do, because 2x² - x + 3 is an irreducible polynomial.....

(-8 - c)(-1) ....distribute the "-1" over the terms in the parentheses....so we have....

8 + c

An irrational number is a number that cannot be expressed as a ratio using two integers. "Pi," "e," and any number that cannot be completely taken out of a radical are irrational numbers.

y=x-2

y=4x+1

Since  y = x-2 in the first equation, substitute this for y in the second equation...so we have...

x-2 = 4x+1     add 2 ro both sides and subtract 4x from both sides

-3x = 3         divide both sides by -3

x = -1           to find y, substitute -1 for x in either equation....so we have, using the first equation....

y = -1-2  = -3     ......so our solution is.......

(-1,-3)

This is just the graph of a straight line......we only need two points to draw the graph.....

So let x = 0, and y  = 2

And let y =0 and x  = -2

So we have the two points,  (0, 2) and (-2, 0). Connect them with a line, and there's your graph....!!!
