Convert  1.221730684928  to degrees...it should be about 70 degrees

So we have...

Sin(X) = 28.95757 / 30.816

Using the sine inverse...( and making sure that we're in degree mode)

sin^-1( 28.95757 / 30.816) = about 70 degrees

Try this again and see if you don't get the same result.....

So we have........

So -3k - 4 = 4

So,  k = -8/3

"Of" means "multiply"  ...   So we have  .....

N = 5/3  = about 1.66

We can construct this as a linear relationship with the x values being the time and the y values representing the height at some time.

And we have the points (2, 3.5) and (5, 8.75)

We can find he slope of this line  by taking the difference in the y values and dividing this by the difference in the x values.

So we have  (8.75 - 3.5) / (5 - 2) =  5.25/ 3

And using one of the points - I'll choose (2, 3.5) - and the slope, we can write the equation of the line....so we have.....

y - 3.5 = (5.25 / 3)(x - 2)  simplify

y =  (5.25x) / 3 - 10.5/3 + 3.5

y =  (5.25x) / 3 - 3.5 + 3.5

y =  (5.25x) / 3

So, after 3 years, we have

y = 5.25(3) / 3 = 5.25 ft tall

Generally, with reapect to functions, the domain is the span of x values "covered" on a graph and the range is the span of y values covered. For instance.......in the graph of y = x^2........the domain is all real numbers and the range is from 0 to postive infinity.
