This is given by... pi*r* h  .... where r is the radius and h is the height

Here's the system we need to solve

5x + 10y + 25z = 545

2y = z     →   y = z/2

x  = z + 11

Substituting........we have

5(z + 11) + 10(z/2) + 25z = 545  

5z + 55 + 5z + 25z  = 545

35z + 55=  545       subtract 55 from both sides

35z = 490              divide both sides by 35

z = 14     and that's the number of quarters

2y = z    →  2y = 14    →  y = 7    and thats the number of dimes

x = z + 11 →   x = 14 + 11  →   x = 25      and that's the number of nickels

5*x=2*(x+1)  simplify

5x = 2x + 2   subtract 2x from both sides

3x = 2           divide by 3 on both sides

x = 2/3      (this is the same answer as happy 7's)

If it takes 3 hours to travel 48 miles with the current, the speed must have been 16 mph.

If it takes 4 hours to travel back against the current, the speed must have been 12 mph.

The average rate for the whole trip is just

(16 + 12) / 2 = 14 mph   (this isn't technicallly correct, but we'll go with it !!!)

The speed of the current must have been 2 mph

Check......time with current x rate + time against current x rate = total distance

3(14 + 2) + 4(14-2) = 96 miles
