You don't need a Calc when you know PEMDAS (parentheses, exponents, multiply, divide, add, subtract), you would DIVIDE first, then ADD

put it back in the original equation we had

3n-5=40 ---> 3(15)-5=40 or 3*15-5=40--->45-5=40
