First one      find where x = 2     go up from there to intersect the red line....the 'y' value there is   f(2)

Second one     the blue graph is shifted UP   3 units from the red one   so    blue f(x)  = red f(x) + 3

Third one        the blue graph is shifted 2 units LEFT       blue f(x) = red f(x+2)

time 't' to max height  =   - b/2a    where b = 60   a = -16

Use the value of 't' in the equation to calculate the maximum height at this time

c)     0   is height when ball hits the ground

      0 = -16t^2+ 60t + 6        use quadratic formula to solve for 't'    throw out negative 't' value

d)   t = 0   when ball is thrown into the air

         the equation becomes   height = 6 ft   

3000 / 120 000 =  .025      2.5 %

160 000 x 2.5% = $ 4000      tax

QM....if you ACTUALLY looked at jcx516' s  origianl solution....YOU should have been able to spot the minor error made in the calculation ....   then you would not have to have been so rude/curt and unappreciative  :     "that is wrong"

f = # goldfish        price =  3f

g = guppies = 26-f      price =    4(26-f)      summed =  86  dollars

3f           +            4 ( 26-f)         =  $ 86     solve for 'f'  the number of goldfish  

                                                                                                 then guppies = 26-f

s + 3g = 14

2s + 4g = 22      multiply first equation by -2 to get

-2s-6g= -28          Now add the two RED equations .....the  s's will cancel out and you can easily solve for 'g'   the price of gloves

                                 then use this value of 'g' in any of the equations to calculate 's' price....

6/9 * 42 = ........

Right triangle with legs  12 and 5  

    hypotenuse = sqrt ( 144 + 25) = 13

13 + 12 + 5 = perimeter

All three of the angles in the question are the same size

6x -10 = 5x+1

x = 11                         so all three angles =  5 (11) + 1 =   56 ^o
