So we are going to find the worst case possible.

Any color balls under 15 will be drawn

So 13 + 11 + 9 = 33

Now we have 28 red, 20 green, 19, yellow.

The worst case possible is 14 from each

14 red, 14 green, and 14 yellow.

So we drew  14 red, 14 green, 14 yellow, and 13 blue, 11 white, 9 black balls.

The next ball we draw NOT MATTER WHAT will make 15 balls of a single color drawn.

So we drawn 14 + 14 + 14 + 13 + 11 + 9 + 1

76 balls should be the answer.

When they say mean of 27 with first 5 terms, remember how to calculate for mean, that means the SUM of the first 5 terms is 27 * 5= 135

You forgot how mean is calculated but solved it in the right way.

If solved correctly, the answer should be 8, which is what the answer sheet says.

I think it utilizes explicit formula. If someone else could solve it for other people who view this problem it would be great!

2. Hint: Add 3 to both sides, then square both sides.

x=2 is has potential for extraneous roots because if you square both sides, and get x²=4, there are other possible solutions that DON'T solve the original equation.
