"B" is correct......

By the Pythagorean Theorem..... b = √(40^2 - 35^2) = √375 = about 19.36

"C" is correct...for an even function, f(-x) = f(x).......in other words, putting in a positive x value and its opposite x value into a function returns the same y value.....

v = √(64*84) = √5376 = about 73.32 ft/s

The correct answer is "C"

To see why......note that if we put 0 into the parent function, y = l x l,  then y = 0.

And if we put 0 into l x l - 2, we get y = -2. Thus, the original function is shifted down 2 units.

"A" is the correct answer......its the basic absolute value value function. y = 3l x l is the basic function that is "compressed" horizontally.....

Let N be the number of nickels.....then the number of quarters are .20N

And we have the value of each nickel times their number plus the value of each quarter times their number equals the total value.......thus......

.05N + .25(.20N) = 6.00        simplify

.05N + .05N = 6.00

.1N = 6.00    divide by .1 on each side

N = 60 nickels

And the number of quarters  = .20(60) = 12

Corrigan saw 3 yellow birds and one non-yelllow bird. He and Bieber see yellow bird 3 that was not seen by Brent. He and Brent see non-yellow bird 2 that is not seen by Bieber.

Brent saw 2 yellow and 2 non-yellow birds. He sees non-yellow bird 1 that is not seen by the others.

5 yellow birds were seen....2 non-yellow birds were seen.
