You start with
9.50x + 60 = 460
Subtract 60 from both sides to get:

Then isolate x by dividing 9.50 from both sides:

This problem is another way of saying proportions.
You can start off like this:
125/2=x/5
Cross multiply...
2x=625
Algebra...
x= 312.5
In the terms of your problem the answer would be:
312.5 miles
