Now the reply and edit functions are starting to play up.

On one question I had to press reply 3 times before I was taken to the correct page. ( I had to use the return to last page twice)

Just then I tried twice to edit my last message.  I was going to add that last comment there.  I tried twice.  I was taken to the right page but the whole original question was not there.  Half of it was missing.

I'd like to check out the new 'ask a question' and join proceedures for new people but I can't unless I log out first.  I haven't done that because i am worried that I won't be able to log back on.  I am not sure that i know my password.  Kitty<3 and CPhill have already had to take on new identities.  I don't want to be the next 'batman'.

1n 1996 there are 

80 + 16% of 80 = 80 + 0.16*80 = 80+12.8 = 92.8

This can also be done as follows

116% of 80 = 1.16*80 = 92.8

You can round this off and say there will be about 93 rabbits in 1996.  But if you use this answer for the next year, use the full non-rounded answer.

The next year there will be

92.8*1.16=107.648 which can be rounded to 108 rabbits for 1997.

but remember 92.8 was the answer to 80*1.16

so in 1997 (which is the second year since the beginning) 

rabbits = 80*1.16*1.16 = 80*1.16²=  107.648

rabbits in the 3rd year (which is 1998) will be 80*1.16³

etc

How do we find the total revenue of a given function p=10-2.5q

Think about this.

if you sell cans of baked beans  for $1.50 per can then p=1.50 dollars

If you sell 8 cans then q=8

The total revenue for the baked beans is $1.50*8 = $12 =  p*q

So TR=price*quantity = (10-2.5q)q = -2.5q² + 10q

Welcome to the forum.  Hopefully it will be working better soon.

I'd say over a 1000 are registered but most of those are not active users.  People come and go.  Sometimes they reappear months later.  Some register and never post at all.  You can never know how many are just viewing or whether they are actually registered.

There might be about 30-50 who are registered and who make ongoing posts, but that is a real guess.

Other members may tell you this is wildly inaccurate and they are probably correct.

You can certainly find  tan^-12  so I don't know what you mean.

if the probability of success is 0.07 what is the chance of succeeding 2 out of 3 times

P(success)=0.07

P(failure)=1-0.07 = 0.93

You could get SSF, SFS, FSS

So there are 3 different ways you can succeed 2 out of three times

Each of these will have a probability of 0.07*0.07*0.93

so the probability of 2 successes 3*0.07*0.07*0.93 = 0.013671

Another way to do this is;

3C2 * 0.07² * 0.93¹ = 0.013671

If you draw a right angled triangle and label the sides A,B and H you would be able to answer your own question.

however

sec stands for secant

cosec stands for cosecent

The 'co' out the front stands for complementary and complementary angles add to 90 degrees.

$$sec(\theta)=cosec(90-\theta)$$  and vise versa.

In Australia we shorten cosecant to cosec but it is the same as csc.
