We can cross out these x's like we did above as long as we do it to both the top and bottom.

If you think about it, no matter what number x is, your multiplying the top and the bottom by it, so you can divie the top and bottom by that number..

Just to make sure this works, let's put in a couple random numbers for x.

I explained how I was able to cross them out mathematically in my post. I think your probably asking how to do it on this site though.

To cross out a number/word on this website, type in what you want to crossout. 

Then highlight the word/numbers by left clicking, draging over the word then stop clicking.

Go to Format, then click strikethrough, and it will cross out those numbers/words!

To un-strikethrough them, you basically just repeat the steps with a crossed-out word.

Well, this question has an uneven number of parentheses, so it's technically not solveable.

I can try to interpret what this is asking though.

I think this is meant to be the following question:

(14/6)-[1{3/2}-2/3(3/2)]           ---1 times 3/2 is just 3/2

(14/6)-[(3/2)-2/3(3/2)]             ---Multiply -2/3*3/2, which is-6/6 or just -1

(14/6)-[3/2-1]                     ---3/2-1(or -2/2) is 1/2

14/6-1/2                --- negative 1/2 is the same thing as -3/6

Let's cross out some of these zeros to make this easier to read. We can do this because they are both multiples of 10 and as long as we cross out the same amount of 0's in both numbers.

So our new question is, "What percentage is 7 of 700?"

To figure this out, we need to divide 7 by 700.

We get 0.01. To turn this into a percentage, move the decimal over two places to the right, and add a percent!
