If we draw the diagram, we can see that BD is the height of triangle ABC. This gives us: A = 1/2(AC)*(BD). Plugging in the numbers we get: 150 = 1/2*(25)*(BD).
We can solve this to get BD = 12.
Hope this helped!
We can write the problem like this:
3 mi/1 hr = 6 mi/x hrs
Then we can cross multiply to get 3x = 6. This gives us x = 2 hrs.
1. We can find the slope of the line: (-3-7)/(5-(-2)) = -10/7.
2. Plug in the point (3,a) to find the slope: (-3-a)/(5-3) = -10/7.
3. Cross multiply to get the equation: -20 = -21 - 7a.
This gives us -1/7 = a.

Hi, I believe this question was answered before: https://web2.0calc.com/questions/a-question-for-cphill_1 I hope this helps!
We know that there are 13 heartsuit cards in a deck of 52 cards. Therefore, the chance of one being the top card (there's nothing very special about being the top card, it's just like picking one out of the 52 cards) is13/52.
No problem :)
I found an excellent answer from CPhill:
