Inverse trig functions (also called arc trig)  are used to find ANGLES   

You are missing a bracket so I will add one on the end.  :)

sqrt(3^0-(-2^3)

$$\\\sqrt{3^0-(-2^3)}\\
=\sqrt{1-(-1*2^3)}\\
=\sqrt{1-(-1*8)}\\
=\sqrt{1-(-8)}\\
=\sqrt{9}\\
=3$$
