The co in cosine stands for complementary.  Complementary angles add up to 90 degrees

$$\\cos\theta=sin(90-\theta)\\
so\\
90-\theta=\theta+20$$

and you can finish it. :)

1.4/2=0.7

0.7 squared =0.49

$$\\x^2+1.4x+0.49=1.2+0.49\\
x^2+1.4x+0.49=1.69\\
(x+0.7)^2=1.3^2\\
x+0.7=\pm 1.3\\
x=0.6 \;\;or\;\;x=-2$$
