or
$$\sqrt[4]{625}=625^{1/4}$$
625^(1/4) = $${{\mathtt{625}}}^{\left({\frac{{\mathtt{1}}}{{\mathtt{4}}}}\right)} = {\mathtt{5}}$$

Here is another way
$$\\-24-\frac{p}{8}=\frac{3p}{8}\\\\ -24-\frac{1p}{8}+\frac{1p}{8}=\frac{3p}{8}+\frac{1p}{8}\\\\ -24=\frac{4p}{8}\\\\ -24=\frac{p}{2}\\\\ -48=p\\\\ p=-48$$
