I am glad that you like the map. I like it too.
And yes, time is really interesting.
The earth spins on its axis every 24 hours. So at any point in time it will be night for some and day for others.
The Earth spins on its North South axis.
One complete spin is 360 degrees.
so
24 hours = 360degrees of longitude
1 hour = 360/24
1 hour = 15 degrees of longitude

This is how time and angles directly relate to one another.
degrees are split into minutes and seconds and
hours are split into minutes and seconds
A minute of time is not the same as a minute of angle but they are related to one another by the rotation of the Earth on its axis.
Here is a diagram that might help you understand.
If you imagine the sun over on the right hand side of the picture then it will be the middle of the day in Australia and the middle of the night in Canada.
That time zone map is really cool. I look at it every day. I like to know what time it is for everyone on the forum.

+3x to both sides

5y = 3x+5

If you want the y by itself it will be

y = (3x+5) / 5
or
y = 3x/5 + 1

The gradient is 3/5 and the y intecept is 1

=3 * 1/4 + -3/2 -2

=3/4 -3/2 - 2

=3/4 - 6/4 - 8/4

=(3-6-8) / 4

= -11/4

= - 2 and 3/4

6.5 exp -5 =
you do not enter the 10 or the multiply sign!

On this site calc press
6.5 x 10^x (-5) The calculator will enter the fist ( by itself)

or with any calc you can press 6.5 x 10^(-5)=

6.5*10^-5

I think that you are missing a bracket here

1/6x+3=2(1/12x+3/2)

The easiest way to cope with question like these is to multiply everything by the lowest common denominator.
In this case that is 12. Actually, it is not 12 it is 6
this will get rid of all the fractions straight away and it will be much nicer to work with.

Try to do it yourself, if you get stuck you can post again.
