Actually...I'm starting to think that anonymous's answer hit it right on the dot.

I believe he assumed this was a circle, which would give you a little more of a chance of being next to your friend.

I forgot to meantion, this was a circle of pedestals, I think some of you might have assumed that this was a line. (sorry about that)

Zero is an even number.

An even number is a number that can be divided by 2 with no remainder.

0 ÷ 2 = 0

There's no remainder, so zero is even.

Like CPhill said, Wikipedia explains that zero is even.

I just thought I could give you a visual of what this is saying, because I personally know that I like learning by visuals.

Melody's answer ( -2 < x < 2 ) is saying that x is bigger than -2, but smaller than 2.

This number line gives you a visual of this nonlinear inequality:

It is important to note that x does not equal 2 or -2, but it does equal anything inbetween them. 

Jboy is right on, the slope is 3. If it helps you picture this, here's a graph:

The slope is 3, or 3/1, meaning that when we go up 3 we have to go over 1, and you can see this on the graph.

There actually should be two arrows at the where the red line cuts off at the edges of the paper, indicating that it will go on forever in both directions.
