Is this correct?   No it is not right.

 

Say you were going to study something about the cars in the carpark.

1) Examples of numerical staudes that could be done is

Size of engine, length, width, Year of manufacture, how many people arrived in it, age of drive, etc etc  See all thise things will be collections of numbers.

 

2)  Examples of categorical data could be. Colour of the car, Make of the car,  the ethnicity of the driver. See, none of these are numbers!  [They are all categories]   So you cannot really compare central tendancies or spread of the data.  I suppose you can say that 70% of the cards are white or red. But you can't say t hat the average car is red.  This does not make sense.
