a.  2x + 3       shifts the parent function up 3 units

b.  2x - 4       shifts the parent function down 4 units

c.  2x + 3 - 5   =  2x - 2    shifts the parent function down 2 units

a.  log (x + 7)    shifts the parent function to the left 7 units

b. log x  - 6      shifts the parent function down 6 units

c. log (x - 2) + 3   shifts the parent function to the right 2 units and up 3 units
