1. Write each of the following exponential expressions without the use of exponents

Note, GM.....

a^{-b} = 1 / a^{b}

So

2^{-3} = 1/2^{3} = 1/8

Can you figure out the next three based on this???......post your answers and I'll check them

[ Also.... if a is not 0..... a^{0} = 1 ]

The last one is 2^{3} = 2 * 2^{2} = 2 * 4 = 8

Alright then solving exponents.

2^{-3} = 1/2^{3} = 1/8

2^{-2} = 1/2^{2} = 1/4

2^{-1} = 1/2^{1} = 1/2

2^{0} = 1

2^{1} = 2

2^{2} = 4

2^{3} = 8

It looks like there is a pattern in this problem. Every time it is multiplied by 2 the exponent goes up by one and give a new answer. Is that right?
