Hi SoulReaper.  It is easier to multiply both sides by 10 first to get rid of all the fractions.

But the answer will be the same.  :))

First, we expand the brackets        3/10x + 6/10 (simplified form is 3/5) = 5

Then we would move the 6/10 to the other side.   3/10x = 4 4/10

We would then multiply both sides by 10       3x = 44

Then we divide both sides by 3     x = 14.67
