I have asked this question before. I have 2 calculators and one gives the answer of 2 the other answer is -13.

I was told to use PEMDAS, so I tried this and got a different answer shown below.

P none

E none

M 3*6=18

D none

A 18+2=20

S 3-20= -17

Can someone explain all this and give me the correct answer and why?

3 - 3*6 + 2 → 3 - 18 + 2 → -15 + 2 → -13

If there is multiple sets of multiplication/division or addition/subtraction , you go right to left.
