As stated in above add like terms only.

359x-24=0

359x=24

x=24/359

x = 0.0668523676880223

Check:

359*0.0668523676880223 -24 = 0.0000000000000057

Which is just a calculator issue of decimal place rounding most likely.

In this we dont have to do much 

We'd solve this like

3x + 356x - 24 ( so out here we wil just add the like terms which is 3x and 356x and we cant subtract 24 from this becoz its isnt the same as 3x and 256x or we can simply say it does not have x with it or isnt of the same value like the other two)

=359x - 24  ANSWER

Get the x's on one side and everything else on the other side of the equals. Then solve what is the value for x.

The original problem isn't actually set to 0, so rosala's answer is correct

If we set it to 0, then stu's answer is good, too.....

I didn't know. WE always just add zeros and work to solve for unknowns LHS | RHS. What is the difference? I can guess but would like a better answer than just guessing. Thanks.
