there are 465 empty seats and 155 occupied seats on a train. what percentage of the seats on the train are empty

The total number of seats is 465 + 155  = 620  .....so....the percentage of empty seats =

 

155 / 620  =   1/4   = .25   = 25%

total seats = 465 + 155 = 620
465 = empty
percentage of empty = 465 / 620 = 75%
