5x3=133x

Move the unknown numbers to one side and the known numbers to the other.

5x+3x=13+3

Add the two unknown numbers.

5x+3x=8x

Add the two known numbers.

13+3=16

Divide the total of the known numbers using the unknown numbers.

168=2

To solve the problem, change x into 2.

5x3=133x523=1332

Now, multiply from both sides.

52=10

32=6

Now,  combine the equation.

103=136

Now, subtract from both sides.

103=7

136=7

Now, compare both answers.

7=7

As we can see, the answer is correct.

So, the answer is x=2.
