Hz is units of 1/s

c is in m/s

so Hz/c = (1/s)/(m/s) = m which is what you expect for wavelength.

you can punch the calculator buttons to get a numeric answer.

Herzt is cycles/second
so
cycles/sec divided by metres/sec
=(cycles/sec) x (sec/metres) the seconds cancel out so you are left with
=cycles/metre

1 times 10 to the 30th Hz divided by 299792458
=10 30 / 299792458 cycles/metre
= 3.3 x 10 21 cycles/metre Correct to 2 significant figures

It appears that Rom and I have different answers.
I think that mine is right but I know that Rom is a very good mathematician.
I really am sure that Rom made a careless error. These things happen.

I did.

But note that a cycle isn't really a unit. Hz is 1/s, not cycles/s.

(1/s) / (m/s) = 1/s * s/m = 1/m

my bad.

Its got to be something per second. People just don't usually say the cycles bit.
