Thank you. I was going to explain it in a more complex way but then I thought about it for a moment and realized an easier way.

If the scale is 1/2, then you multiply each side by 1/2 to get its size on the blueprints:

$${\mathtt{10}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}\left({\frac{{\mathtt{1}}}{{\mathtt{2}}}}\right) = {\mathtt{5}}$$

$${\mathtt{12}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}\left({\frac{{\mathtt{1}}}{{\mathtt{2}}}}\right) = {\mathtt{6}}$$

So your new dimensions on the blueprints are 5 inches by 6 inches.
