+17 if the is 74and 1/2 in the air you would subtract 74 and 1/2 from 80 wich would be 6 and a 1/2 so i think the answer would equal 6 and 1/2

If we considered the top of the water to be "0" and you said -5.5ft, I would understand that, too....
