Let the number of ounces of 20% medicine needed =T

Then, the number of ounces of 5% medicine needed =10 - T

0.20T  +  0.05*[10 - T] =0.08 * 10, solve for T

T = 2 ounces of 20%medicine needed

10 - 2 = 8 ounces 0f 5% medicine needed.
