Three quarters of the cars in a parking garage are black, 4/7 of the remaining cars are blue, and the rest are silver. If there are 9 silver cars, how many cars are in the parking garage?
3/4 are black.
1/4 * 4/7 = 1/7 are blue
1 - (3/4 + 1/7) = 1 - (25/28) = 3/28 are silver.
3/28 = 9
1/28 = 3
3 x 28 = 84, which is your answer :)
