If you are multiplying whole numbers together, the number of zeroes at the end of the numbers will tell you, when added together, the number of zeroes at the end of the answer.

Since 9000 has 3 zeroes at its end and 600,000 has 5 zeroes at its end there will be 8 zeroes at the end of the answer (3 + 5 = 8).

In front of the 8 zeroes the digits will be whatever 9 x 6 is.

$${\mathtt{9\,000}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}{\mathtt{600\,000}} = {\mathtt{5\,400\,000\,000}}$$
