We can separate the arrow into 2 shapes, a triangle at the top and rectangle at the bottom

To find the base of the triangle we need to add 2+10+2, which is 14. Now we need the height of the triangle, which is 24-17 = 7

The formula for the area of a triangle is \(\frac{bh}{2}\). If the base is 14 and the height is 7, we get A = 49

Now we need the area of the rectangle.

The problem already gave the length and width, 17 and 10.

The formula for the area of a rectangle is \(l(w)\)

Multiplying 17 and 10 together, we get 170.

Now we need to add 49 and 170 to get the area of the whole figure.

49+170 = 219

So the answer is 219 units squared
